The Tiziano Project | Concept

There are 42 million people in the world who have been forcibly uprooted from their homes. More than 800,000 human trafficking victims cross international borders each year. In 2009, 15 million children died of hunger.

At the same time, YouTube now reaches more than 100 million viewers. Each month, 2.5 billion photos are uploaded to Facebook. In 2009, Twitter remained a solitary voice for the people of Iran after western media outlets had long left.

The communication revolution has brought people, young and old, closer together to share in a universal conversation. The Tiziano Project was founded on the idea that it is morally unacceptable to have YouTube and undocumented injustice in the world at the same point in human history.

Mission Statement

The Tiziano Project provides community members in conflict, post-conflict, and underreported regions with the equipment, training, and affiliations necessary to report their stories and improve their lives.

Our Vision

The Tiziano Project strives to develop and encourage first-class collaborative journalism on a global scale. We are dedicated to expanding knowledge and access to information worldwide by empowering communities to tell their stories.

Through innovative use of information technology, we work towards the betterment of the human condition - one story at a time - by creating jobs and providing educational opportunities in forgotten parts of the world.

By teaching students how to tell and distribute their stories through new media, we are empowering them to produce firsthand narratives of their lives and to shape the world's perception of their culture and conditions.

Four Pillars

The Tiziano Project has four pillars that it is dedicated to upholding in all that it does:

  • Provide technology and training using experienced journalists and specialists in emerging technologies.

  • Produce meaningful content and disseminate knowledge on a global scale.

  • Promote our students and foster job creation in the field of new media.

  • Pioneer new technologies and collaboration in new media and community journalism.

The Tiziano Project provides community members in conflict, post-conflict, and underreported regions with the equipment, training, and affiliations necessary to report their stories and improve their lives.
